The need for an old age home in the Free State countryside is by Ds and Mrs. AJG Oosthuizen after their retirement on Paris identified. The residence, under the protection and management of the Monument Houses of the Dutch Reformed Sisters Association, is after both Ds and Mrs Oosthuizen named. During 1985 the hostel with 45 elderly people was taken into use.
In addition to the rooms and rental apartments, in 1988 there were five residential flats and in 1990 nine living rooms were added. For the first three months, Mrs. CE Rose acted to put things on a fixed footing. Mrs. JE Viljoen initially led the management of the hostel, and she was in 1987 by Mrs. H Brayshaw succeeded.
Currently, the home is functioning as a care department for 25 weak elderly people and a housing unit where elderly people who are still working independently in rooms and apartments live and receive support services from the home.
The hostel offers 24-hour care for 25 impaired persons who include all aspects of care to the persons. Events are offered on a regular basis to stimulate the elderly. Form a unit with residential, rental and room facilities.
